One skirt, three looks

One of my new year resolutions was to invest more money in quality, versatile and dare I say, re-wareable, pieces. As you may have picked up by now I will often only wear something once before it gets sent to the depths of my wardrobe, never to be seen again. However with the dawn of a new year, I’m turning away from this wasteful cycle and investing in some key pieces that can be worn for work and for play, in many different ways.

There are a few key items, wardrobe staples if you will,  that are capable of the transformations I mentioned and this white French Connection skirt happens to be one of them.

1. The first outfit, completed with a Bardot crop and Wittner heels for the Brisbane International Tennis.

2. With a chambray shirt from Events for a casual yet chic corporate look for work. DSG_0226 DSG_0229

3. The same Events chambray shirt yet tied up for a more casual but sleek Sunday brunch look.  DSG_0295 DSG_0300 DSG_0302Don’t fall in to the trap of typecasting a certain garment for once look only. With a bit of imagination you can triple your wardrobe without buying a single thing. Just make sure when you’re out shopping to avoid impulse purchases that don’t compliment things already in your wardrobe or you wont ever have anything to wear them with. Dress things down and then dress them up again next time. Getting creative with what you’ve got can be just as much fun as buying something new.
