Best of online

Carrie Bradshaw once proclaimed she couldn’t possibly start shopping online because “shopping is my cardio”. Now while this is true, shopping can be an excellent workout, we have to remember that Carrie lived in the 90’s and the early 00’s, not 2013. Without online shopping, how else could you shop while in a lecture at uni, in a meeting at work or from the comfort of your very own bed? I’m sure I don’t need to tell you all the amazing benefits of online shopping, you already know that it opens you up to the vast bliss of world wide retail. I will however tell you who’s the best of the best when it comes to online shopping. Sometimes the question isn’t Watt to wear, but where to buy it?

Fashion:

ASOS Australia

Asos is number one. Pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to online fashion shopping. The British based website has a bit of everything; quirky dresses, classic after 5, shoes and gorgeous accessories. Items range in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars so there is something for every budget and best of all, free and fast postage to Australia with no minimum spend!

Fashion Bunker

One you may not have heard of before but certainly need to know. I just purchased this stunning Finders Keepers dress from Fashion Bunker in their legendary sale that is on now! Pieces in the sale start from a crazy $10, but to secure these bargains make sure you have your credit card ready within about 3 seconds of the start of the sale as they sell like hot cakes! Fashion Bunker stocks the hottest labels such as Cameo – The Label, Finders Keepers, Keepsake – The Label and Senso. With $10 express postage within Australia and free postage on orders over $100 this is one you need to get onto right away!

The Iconic

The Iconic is Australia’s leading online fashion retailer and it’s easy to see why, they have a bit of everything, for everyone! Mens and womens clothing, shoes, hats, swimwear and accessories – you want it, The Iconic’s got it. With 3hr delivery within Sydney, free express delivery over $50, 100 day free returns and an online chat help feature just in case you have any queries, this would have to be one of the easiest websites to shop from. You can literally buy your entire outfit from top to bottom while sitting at your work desk and have it delivered to you within 3hrs – ready for that spur of the moment night out after work with the girls – can it get any better?

Boohoo

Boohoo is perfect if you are shopping for that on trend piece rather than a classic wardrobe staple. Boohoo is first to stock the must have ‘of the minute’ pieces, gives 10% off for students and has free shipping on all Australian orders. Shipping overseas is also very reasonable, only $11 to most of the world, unlike the $30+ most websites charge.

Miss Selfridge

Miss Selfridge brings you the best of British fashion with free postage on orders over £50. The website is in British Pounds so you will have to make use of an online currency converter but it is definitely worth the extra effort. More common in Britain, almost unheard of in Australia, Miss Selfridge has a petities range tailored for woman 5’3″ and under with sizes from 4-14. If you fit this category save yourself a few pennies at the seamstress’ and buy clothes that actually fit from the Miss Selfrdige petite range.

Gosh Celebrity

Gosh Celebrity is another one you may not have heard of before but is one you definitely need to get to know. A favourite of style icon, Sydney Fashion Blogger, Gosh Celebrity allows you to shop by size, brand and even by trend (eg. peplums or mullet dresses). Gosh Celebrity is particularly good for evening wear and offers recreations of dresses worn by celebrities such as this dress worn by Zoe Saldana.

Shoes:

Style Tread

Shoe shopping online is particularly easy, unlike with clothing where you are often a different size in different brands and can be unsure if a particular item will suit your shape, generally if you can get a shoe in your size, it’s going to fit. This is why Style Tread has become such a huge success. Just as their tag line suggests, they really do have “shoes for every soul’.  Mens, womens, kids, it doesn’t matter they have a shoe for every person for every occasion. Free delivery on orders over $50 and an online chat feature which allows you to ask questions about particular products makes Style Tread the hottest online shoe shop in Australia.

“I don’t need another pair of shoes” – Said no woman ever…go check them out.

Shoes of Prey

You have a funny shaped foot, you want something no one else will ever have, you’re eccentric and think all the shoes you see are just too boring? Design your own at Shoes of Prey! Their bespoke shoes are all handmade from premium materials and they deliver all over the world free of charge. Start with a basic shape and create your own shoe magic with Shoes of Prey.

Jewellery:

Jae Black Designs

You wont find more beautiful pearls or unique designs like those at Jae Black Designs anywhere else on the Internet. I have this Spellbound necklace and it is even more stunning in reality than in this picture. Jewellery from Jae Black Designs make the perfect present for someone special and Christmas is only just around the corner…

Designer:

Net-A-Porter

Net-A-Porter is the be all and end all when it comes to buying designer brands online. Stocking Victoria Beckham to Valentino and everything in between, Net-A-Porter is your one stop shop for designer anything. Tried and trusted by fashionistas all over the world, Net-A-Porter offers free shipping on orders over $500 and delivers your precious pieces in the prettiest of wrappings.

Reebonz

Australia’s answer to Net-A-Porter, Reebonz is Australia’s trusted name in buying and selling designer pieces. Reebonz has something not many luxury online stores have and that is the option to sell vintage items. So not only can you buy new, authentic designer pieces, you can sell your old ones too! Ingenious…

And there you have it, my favourite online shops, I hope your bank accounts don’t hate me too much after reading this…
